OakSturdy Gun Rest provides a superior rest and support when compared to any other on the market today. With your weapon of choice being supported in front of you, you are hands free. Adaptable with ladder stands, climbing stands, and hang on stands; it may also be used from the ground in a sitting position, ideal for turkey hunters and for hunters who prefer hunting from the ground. OakSturdy has support straps that can be easily adjusted to the hunter’s height and firearm length in less than a minute. OakSturdy Gun Rest is lightweight, weighing only 4.25 pounds. OakSturdy uses the same mounting plate for all products. Simply buying an extra mounting plate(s) allows the hunter to hunt multiple locations with one swing arm and one tree stand pulley system.
Directions
1. Read all directions before using.
2. Verify that all parts are in the packaging.
3. OakSturdy gun rest is ready to use, just position sliders and hang in tree.
4. Place the ratchet strap around the tree you are hunting from about a foot above where your head will be when sitting down. Remove swing arm. Put the strap above the tab on mounting bracket. Pull loose end of strap tight, leveling the bracket while ratcheting the strap tight.
5. Align the pivot point in the swing arm with the two holes in the mounting bracket and push pin through until it snaps in place. Be sure the straps on the swing arm are on bottom of the arm.
6. Once the swing arm is pinned in place with bushing on bottom, apply light down pressure to the swing arm in all directions and re-tighten the ratchet strap. This will ensure the mounting plate is in contact with tree on all points of the bracket increasing sturdiness.
7. The ratchet strap may need to be tightened after a couple of days due to the strap stretching, check tightness before each use.
8. To move slider, loosen the wing nut on the front slider that holds the front set of strapping and move close to the end of swing arm, be sure to tighten the wing nut back up. Do the same with back slider.
9. The height can now be adjusted by loosening the plastic cam buckle, pulling the strapping through the cam buckles to shorten or lengthen the distance needed to level the firearm. Be sure to close the cam buckle when done with changing the height. Give a good tug on the strap to ensure the buckle is closed.
10. Slide the extra strap provided in the box down to the rear of the swing arm. This strap will be put near the eyepiece of your scope. Be sure the cam buckle is underneath the fire arm in front of the trigger guard and the buckle is closed by giving the strap a good tug. If hunting without a scope be sure the firearm is stable before letting go.
11. Once the firearm is in place, practice the act of grabbing your gun to familiarize yourself with that action.
12. The firearm may now be swung to the left or right depending on the hunter’s choice, opening the field of view. When you need the firearm, simply swing into place. The back strap can be left in place or removed from the stock when shooting. If elevation change is needed raise or lower your body, not the strapping.
13. Using the back strap to hold your firearm up without holding on to it, is up the hunter. Your gun’s safety is your responsibility. OakSturdy is not liable for any accident or damage to your firearm.
